The man keeps telling me that his sun can’t dry a handkerchief again, he is the best father you can ask for… I still remember staring at a girl beside him in my ss3, he caught me and asked if I liked the girl, the next thing he said was ‘go talk to her’… we did a video call once and he shouted at me… he asked why I was looking so worn out… In his words, “you will never be in your twenties again, buy good clothes, party responsibly, do crazy stuff with the woman you love, have fun before you regret at old age”… I remember when I got my first F in the university, he called and heard me cry, Man, credited my account with 10k to go buy a bottle and cool off… ‘take life easy, you will still graduate, remember you are just 17 and you have a lot of time to try again’ he said… Thank you for the freewill you gave me, while other kids could not have a say in their life, you made me make all my decisions through your guidance… I remember waking up to tell you that I no longer want to go to TECH, you drove me to the new school I wanted the next morning. Thank you for respecting all my decisions… thank you for pampering me like a baby… I am sorry I am yet to fulfil any of my promises to you. I know your God will never leave me stranded in life.
Thank you for loving my mother, You both made me believe in love… you made me see reasons to respect women… you always advise me to walk away whenever a woman starts her issues… you’ve made me a responsible man… Losing you is my greatest fear even though I know it is inevitable.
You have given me a difficult task, which is to be better than you. I pray I’ll be a better Husband and Father because our generation differs from yours.
HAPPY 85TH BIRTHDAY TO MY LOVELY FATHER, MAY YOUR GOD NEVER DISAPPOINT YOU.
