Lady Ekaette Usip Begins Chairmanship Consultations
…Receives rousing welcome in her community


The Transition Chairman of Mkpat Enin local Government Area Lady Ekaette Usip over the weekend received a rousing welcome from the people of Ikot Obio Okio in Mkpat Enin
Local Government Area during a consultative visit to the community.
Lady Usip who was accompanied to the visit by her husband Mr. Ebietobong Usip and stakeholders of Mkpat Enin was received by the village Council Chairman and his cabinet members, youths, women, elders and other respected members of the community.
Speaking at the attended event, the Village Council Chairman, Mr. Ufot Ebong thanked God for the many benevolence and protection upon the life the council Boss. He described Lady Usip as a mother with a large heart who has been able to lead the entire Mkpat Enin Local Government Area successfully.
“We all call you mummy because of your kind nature, Ikot Obio Okoi as a community is proud of your strides in life. Your have also been a blessing to the people of this village both the young and old. We will not relent in our support to you and your family at all times. Our prayers are with you and your family at all times”.
Speaking on behalf of the youths of Ikot Obio Okoi, the Youth President Comrade Aniekan Peter assured Lady Ekaette Usip that the youths of Ikot Obio Okoi will continue to give her their total support at all times. He stated that the youths of the community are happy with the performance of the Transition Committee Chairman so far.
In her response, the Transition Committee Boss thanked her people for the warm reception accorded her and her entourage and commended the people for the love and support they have given her since she was appointed as a Transition Committee Chairman of the council by Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.
“I am grateful for the warm reception you people have accorded me today; Ikot Obio Okoi is my primary constituency because I am from here. The support and Love you have given me has gone a long in making my tenure a success”.
She pledged to continue to attract positive development and help to the people of Ikot Obio Okoi especially when God gives her the grace to do so.
She also charged her people to continue in their support to Governor Udom Emmanuel describing him as a father who has made the development of Mkpat Enin a priority in his administration.
“The governor has showed so much love to Mkpat Enin, the various road constructions, coconut refinery and other projects in Mkpat Enin are testimonies to this great love. The best way to reciprocate this love is to continue to support the governor and the Peoples Democratic Party.
The Transition Chairman added that the visit was to formally inform her people that she will be aspiring to serve Mkpat Enin people in the capacity of an elected Chairman in the forthcoming Local Government Elections. “I am also here to inform all of us that I am offering myself to serve the good people of Mkpat Enin in the forthcoming elections as an elected Chairman”.
Also speaking the immediate past Vice Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, Hon Eno Williams thanked Lady Ekaette Usip for her impressive performance in office as the Transition Committee Chairman; she described the aspiration of Lady Usip as “Divine” and enjoined all citizens of Ikot Obio Okoi and Mkpat Enin as a whole to support the dream.
Highpoint of the event was submission of prayers for the success of her dream by family heads, clergymen and the entire people of Ikot Oboi Okoi present at the occasion.
Dignitaries who went with the transition Chairman on the visit include, a former Member Representing Mkpat Enin in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon Udobong Ekpo, Chief Friday Ayara, former Chapter Chairman of PDP, Mr. Nseobong Essien (Campaign Director).
Others are Hon Anietie Okodi, Hon Inimfon Ebe, Hon Okodi, Comrade Imo Udoka, former Vice Chairman of Mkpat Enin Hon Eno Williams, former Chapter Woman leader of Mkpat Enin, Hon Imaobong, Hon Ekerete Philip, Hon Ukonsek Ukonsek and other prominent elders of Mkpat Enin.
