The faces of indigenes of Ikpa Ikono clan in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area will soon beam with smiles as both Akwa Ibom State Government and Mkpat Enin Local Government Council have put modalities in place to enhance quality of lives and sustain development.
The Chairman, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, Hon. Ekanem Brown revealed this during a courtesy visit paid on him by the Ikpa Ikono People’s Assembly (IPA) today at Mkpat Enin Council Secretariat.
Hon. Brown assured IPA that Governor Udom Emmanuel’s led-administration have concluded plans to create more road network within the area as the construction of Ikpa Ikono road is already captured in the budget.
Briefing them further, the Council Boss stated that steps have been taken to create a sustainable future by harnessing on the abundant oil palm resources in the area, reviving the existing palm oil mills and building the capacity of indigenes on the standardized method of processing palm oil to attract international market.
“This will position Mkpat Enin as an economic hub in quality palm oil production, boost internally generated revenue, improve on socio-economic development as well as improve the standard of livelihood in the area” he said.
Hon. Brown reiterated his commitment to the development and relative peace in Mkpat Enin.
